Founded in Dublin in 1191, St. Patrick's Cathedral is the country's national cathedral. It is the tallest church in Ireland and the largest thanks to its 43-meter-tall tower. This magnificent cathedral houses the remains of Jonathan Swift, who wrote Gulliver's Travels. Tourists are charged a small admission fee at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and all money raised goes towards paying for the maintenance of the building.
