Thanks to the great esteem of St. Nicholas in the Orthodox tradition, St. Nicholas Church is the city's first and only Catholic church to survive World War II without significant damage. Founded by the Dominican Order, the church is a splendid church with a dark marble interior, old exposed walls and a gloomy atmosphere; This church is distinguished by its multi-level high altar and baroque paneled choir stalls. It should be noted that it is temporarily closed for restoration.
