The city of Kosice is full of amazing wonders, and the first of these is the Cathedral of St. Elisabeth. It is considered the largest Gothic cathedral built in the Western style in Europe. It is also the largest place of worship in Slovakia. It houses the charming Altar of St. Elizabeth, a rare double spiral staircase, and one Of only five of its kind in Europe, it also houses the crypt of the leader of the largest anti-Habsburg rebellion in the former Kingdom of Hungary, Francis II Rákosi, and a sundial dating back to 1477. Besides, frescoes and sculptures adorn the interior and exterior, and thanks to the wonderful views that the tower offers At a height of 60 metres, the climb is well worth the effort.
