Sri Maha Maryam is a 19th century Hindu temple considered the oldest in Kuala Lumpur, and since its inception it formed an important place of worship for the early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage and a popular tourist and religious destination. It was built in 1873 by K. K. Thamboosamy Pillai, which opened its doors to the public in the 1920s, has many intricate architectural features that capture the attention of photography enthusiasts.
