The Spanish Synagogue is the newest synagogue in the Prague ghetto. It was built in 1868 for the local reform complex on the site of the 12th-century Alchol Synagogue which was the oldest synagogue in the Prague ghetto. It was named the Spanish Synagogue for its magnificent Moorish interior influenced by the famous Alhambra.
