Information about Spadina Museum
The Spadina Museum is the only place representing the 1920s and 1930s in Canada, a period of transformation that dramatically changed the city. For over a century, Spadina has been home to three generations of the Austin family ( Austin ) and opened in 1984. The museum completed an extensive interior renovation in 2010 bringing the house back to the 20th century. Visitors can see what the home looked like during those years through antiques, furniture, tapestries, and original décor, or explore six acres of restored 1905 gardens. The museum gives a glimpse into the interwar period through a rich list of guided tours, school programs, special events, changing exhibitions, lectures, and workshops. .
