The Soviet War Memorial is a military memorial and cemetery in Berlin's Triptoer Park, built to a design by Soviet architect Yakov Belopolsky to commemorate 7,000 of the 80,000 Red Army soldiers who fell in the Battle of Berlin in April and May 1945. This memorial can be entered via a large arch surrounded by tall trees and lush green grass, and there is a three-meter-high statue representing “Mother Russia”: a woman mourning her fallen sons in war.
