Solange Cultural Park was originally a sugar refinery, also known as Jyali Sugar Refinery, as it was the first new sugar refinery established by Meiji Sugar Co. Solange Cultural in 2003 as a way to reuse the empty space as a center for art and culture. Solange Cultural Park is indeed a leisure paradise for locals, and the tourist site created from an old sugar mill is full of Tainan flavour. Its surroundings are like a park, former warehouses and factory buildings converted into exhibition spaces for all kinds of art. Viewed from below, the specially preserved ceiling beams and columns, with their geometric lines shining in the blue sky and meeting the green on the side, make for a delightful sight.
