Information about Sheva Tahanot
This park was established on the ruins of the Arab village of Jerissa, which was demolished in the 1948 war, and it was one of the five villages located within the boundaries of the Tel Aviv municipality. Many flour mills that were used by the ancients by using the waters of the Yarkon River to move the mills were discovered at this site. And near the mills there are the remains of an ancient bridge from the Roman era. The locals used these mills, which were grinding about half a ton of flour every hour for hundreds of years until the village was taken over in 1936. The village is called in Arabic as “Jerissa, which means thin flour, which means that the villagers were tied to the land and made all their living.” of these wheat mills.
