The area of the museum is 15,000 square meters, amidst spacious interior spaces and special sections for temporary exhibitions. The Shanghai Film Museum combines interaction and observation, as it includes all stages of film production throughout the history of Chinese cinema. The museum contains four floors on each floor, focusing on a specific era. It also presents to the public the tools used in film production over the old years and information on how to use them.
