The Sierra Grossa or Sierra de San Julian is a small mountain with a height of 161 meters and is located in the northwest of the city of Alicante and next to the Mediterranean Sea, separating the city center and the coastal areas of Albufeira and Cape Lach Huertas. The first settlements in this area date back to the Bronze Age, and in the century Nineteenth, the British refinery, which created a unique industrial complex in Spain, was installed with more than a kilometer of corridors and tunnels carved into the rock with huge vaults ranging from three thousand to five thousand cubic meters of capacity that contained tank fuel. Nowadays, Serra Grossa is a protected forest park, ideal for walking, running or cycling, as it has a very simple road and has great views of the city and the sea.
