Established in 2004, Seoul Plaza is an oval-shaped public square in front of the City Hall in the heart of Seoul. It hosts a wide range of cultural events including festivals, concerts, public exhibitions, and turns into an outdoor ice rink. Every winter, it's a popular city attraction that once had a large fountain at its center, but this has been replaced by a sidewalk fountain that shoots water into the air through a number of holes in the ground. In 2004, the area was renovated and vehicle-free.
