Schauinsland literally means "look at the earth" and lives up to its name in fine weather, the watchtower on the summit offers splendid views in all directions over the surrounding Black Forest mountains and valleys, the Rhine Valley, the Vosges Mountains and the Swiss Alps. The most beautiful way to reach the top is by taking the Schwensland Cable Car, which is the longest two-way cable car system in Germany.
