The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Pisa has a unique design designed by Diotisalvi forty years before he designed the Pisa Cathedral and the Baptistery. The church dates back to 1138 AD when it was an annex to the settlement of the Knights of St. John in Jerusalem (the Knights Templar), and then the church became under the control of the Knights of Malta Until their suppression in 1817, when the church became the property of the ruling royal family.
