St. Mary’s Catholic Church is located in the city of Trabzon and was built by order of Sultan Abdülmeset between 1869 AD and 1874 AD in order to serve foreign citizens, and it is still used today by citizens and foreign visitors for prayer. It consists of 3 naves covered with vaults and surrounded by high walls to provide protection, as it was subjected to some attacks in the past. Tourists from all over the world can visit it, wear appropriate clothes and go visit it with your family or friends, as it is a place that suggests tolerance between religions and consideration of differences between people.
