Information about San Sebastián City Council
The town hall of San Sebastian was built between 1882 and 1887, and is an important architectural landmark in the area, and enjoys an excellent location between Concha Beach and the old quarter, next to the wonderful gardens of the Alderde Edir, and strangely enough, it was originally a discotheque, and later became the site of battles between nationalists and Republicans during the Spanish Civil War, and in the summer of 1936, a revolt took place between armed citizens and General Franco's forces here, and bullet holes can still be found in the distinctive facade.
