San Pedro Church is the church headquarters of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese in the city, and is considered one of its shrines of great historical and cultural importance. It is the oldest church in Davao. It was built in 1847 by the Spanish colonists. It is also distinguished by its interesting architectural design, its curved concrete facade, its ornate altar and its separate bell. ; The cross in its outer courtyard indicates the convergence and tolerance of religions on the island.
