Samiro Temple is one of the most visited sites of Marian worship in Portugal. It is located on top of a hill of the same name at an altitude of 566 meters from the surface of the earth, and offers a distinctive view of the city of Braga. It attracts every year large numbers of worshipers, especially during the pilgrimage to the first Sunday of the month. June and third Sunday in August, founded by Martinho Silva; Priest of the Diocese of Braga who led the Marian Congregation in the 1860s.
