St. Stephen's Cathedral or as it is called "Hvar Cathedral" is a Roman Catholic church located on the eastern side of the town square. It was built on the site of an ancient Christian church in the early 6th century. The church houses a beautiful bell tower dating back to the fifteenth century. It has a unique architectural style that combines Baroque architectural styles and Renaissance elements together. As for the cathedral mausoleum, it is the remains of a Gothic church dating back to the fourteenth century.
