Information about Saif ed-Din Bokharzi mausoleum
These small burials are located in the east of Bukhara in an area known as Fatabad. The burials contain the remains of the Khorasani Sheikh Saif al-Din Bukharzi, who died in 1261 AD, and the remains of Governor Bayan-Quli Khan, who died in 1348, a descendant of the Mongol Chagatai dynasty and a descendant of Genghis Khan. Although the mausoleum is small, it contains some of the best glazed tile work found in Central Asia, where visitors will find mosaics of Qur'anic inscriptions, beautiful decorations, and more.
