The Sacromonte Monastery is an ancient monastery dating back to the seventeenth century, which is today the residence of the diocese and the ecclesiastical museum. It is located in the north-east of the city of Granada, and can be reached through the Sacromonte trail. In 1595 the relics of Saint Cecilio (San Cecilio) were found. ) who was a pupil of the Apostle Santiago, in addition to some lead paintings written in Arabic, and therefore the monastery is considered an important cultural, religious and historical landmark.
