Information about Rousse Regional Historical Museum
The Regional Historical Museum of Ruse is one of the 11 regional museums in Bulgaria. It was founded in 1904 as a gallery of the Knyaz Boris I Boys Secondary School in Ruse. It occupies the building of the former Battenberg Palace which was also a district court. The present museum was built between 1879 and 1882 by Friedrich Grünanger, and at present, the museum contains about 140,000 artifacts from the Ruse region and northeastern Bulgaria.
