The Rotonda di San Lorenzo is one of the oldest buildings and churches in the city. It was built in the late eleventh century AD on the ruins of an ancient temple. It is one of the destinations that attracts tourists from everywhere, thanks to its majestic Roman architectural design, very similar to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. It is also home to a unique collection of frescoes and marble pieces from the Byzantine school.
