The Roman city of Caesarugusta was surrounded by a wall extending three kilometers, 10 meters high and 7 meters wide, in addition to 120 towers distributed along the wall. The remains of the Roman walls of Zaragoza date back to the second and third centuries AD, and were used for defensive purposes during the Middle Ages by the Visigoths and Muslims, and these steadfast remains to this day bear witness to what Zaragoza has gone through over the long centuries.
