One of the oldest cultural institutions in Gabrovo, the Regional History Museum is located in the former building of the Bulgarian National Bank which was a Baroque house built in 1904 by the architect Nikola Lazarov. From the Paleolithic, the Late Antique (4th-6th centuries AD), the 1st and 2nd Bulgarian kingdoms, the Turkish domination, the Renaissance, and the industrial prosperity of Bulgarian Manchester, to the present day, and in this museum, you can see the Gabrovo Gallery that shows the development of the city on its contemporary territory.
