The Great Reformed Church of Debrecen is the symbol of the city and one of the largest reform churches in the country. It is a building of great historical importance, as independence was declared on April 14, 1849, and the chair used by the President on that glorious occasion is one of the most precious relics in the church, Its main structure has been rebuilt several times, and its classic form familiar today was developed after the fire of 1802, and its visitor can enjoy stunning views of the city from the top of its towers or steel bridge, and exhibitions of religious history, concerts and other important events are also hosted in this church.
