The museum highlights the works of famous local merchants such as Sekiya Shiro, famous for his fine metalwork, and Katsuhira Tokushi, known for his wooden stone portrait. Throughout the museum, you can find rooms showcasing the early history of Akita, amazing masterful trade skills, as well as an impressive collection of classical and contemporary art from famous local artists.
