The Royal Monastery or the Real Monasterio de la Encarnación was built in the seventeenth century AD. It is the place where Santa Teresa lived for 27 years. It consists of 3 main rooms where the saint is said to have seen the baby Jesus. It is home to a collection of famous artifacts and works of art. It also houses a storeroom for the dried blood of St. Pantaleon.
