The Ras Mosque dates back to 1864 AD, when it was built as the first mosque in the Masaad area in the Wilayat of Jafla. It was named by this name in relation to “Ras al-Jabban” or the cemetery, meaning the head of the cemetery, meaning that this mosque was built on top of a somewhat old cemetery. The mosque was distinguished by a simple architectural design that includes spacious courtyards and prayer rooms.
