Located opposite the picturesque Putrajaya Lake, the Putra Mosque was built in 1997 from a unique pink granite and can accommodate more than 10,000 worshipers at the same time. It is the most distinctive landmark in Putrajaya and one of the most modern mosques in the world. Persian Islamic architecture in the Safavid period with elements drawn from other Islamic cultures, and its Islamic architecture artistically blends traditional designs, local craftsmanship, and original materials, and its building integrates Malaysian, Persian and Arabic Islamic architectural designs.
