Princess Cave, also known as Phra Nang Cave, located on the eastern side of Railay Bay is famous for its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. Since ancient times, the cave was home to fishermen before going to sea, where they made offerings to Goddess Shiva in the belief that the cave was the home of the legendary sea princess and that their offerings would fulfill them. Success in hunting them protects them from danger, but most importantly, the cave contains a large collection of carved wooden tokens, offerings and other items believed to aid fertility.
