With the Place des Artists d'Affairs being one of the most visited squares in all of Paris, it's no surprise that competition for a place is fierce. Artists are allocated a small space of about 3 square feet, which must be shared between two artists on shift days. The only type of art allowed in this square are paintings (mostly Parisian landscapes), portraits, caricatures, and silhouettes. Artists must apply through City Hall in the 18th arrondissement, but they say the waiting list is about 10 years!
