Pathanapuram is a picturesque village in Kollam district, covering an area of 248 square kilometres. The village is famous for its rubber and spice plantations, and for businesses such as domestication, farming, goat rearing and bamboo weaving, it is an important center of commerce in Kollam. Many festivals are also held in the village during the months of February and March, and people from all parts of the planet come to participate in the festivals.
