This beautiful garden - which has inspired many artists in many famous paintings - was created in the 18th century for Philip Egaletti, cousin of Louis XVI and father of King Louis Philippe I. The garden drawings were modified one last time by the architect Alvand, the architect David and the gardener Bareillet Deschamps who worked under the orders of Baron Haussmann. And in 1861 Napoleon III was finally able to open the garden we know today.
