Megali Amos is the closest beach to Mykonos Town, 600 meters to the south, and its name means "big sand", a quiet beach ideal for surfing, windsurfing and fishing. This beach does not have umbrellas due to the strong winds, but it is a good place to relax on the sand or just walk along it, and there are a number of hotels, apartments and small traditional restaurants just a few steps away.
