One of Alicante's most famous parks, the Pantheon of Quijano is located in front of the Plaza de España and next to the bullring. It is a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, created in honor of Trino González de Quijano; The man who fought the cholera epidemic that spread in Alicante at the end of the nineteenth century and who also ended his life for it, the Pantheon of Quijano contains a unique little cave, a small pond with frogs, and a small hut that was until recently a charming library, and in the middle of the garden stands the stone mausoleum Built by Francisco Morell in 1857, it contains the remains of Quijano.
