The couple István and Anna Regős created the Palmita Design Gallery in 1998 in the basement of their 200-year-old home. Their goal was to create a place where visitors and tourists could learn about Hungarian, cosmopolitan, classic and contemporary design; In 2013, they opened their second exhibition in Budapest, as a result of its popularity among foreign and local design lovers.
