The Maming Palace Museum has been open since 2015 in the Italian city of Merano. It displays the collections of the Civic Museum in a recently renovated 17th century building. The permanent collection provides an overview of the historical development of the city. Social and artistic, even contemporary art, and some strange and exciting pieces enrich the collections, giving them a strange charm, including an Egyptian mummy, a Sudanese weapons collection, a prototype of a typewriter and a funeral mask for Napoleon.
