The Elephant Palace is an ancient building located in the beautiful Sicilian city of Catania, which currently serves as the town's town hall and is located just north of the cathedral square. The cornerstone of this beautiful building was laid in 1696 AD, just three years after the catastrophic earthquakes that struck and destroyed most of Catania.
