Housed in a classical building dating back to the 19th century, the Opera House is one of the largest and most famous opera theaters in Poland. The opera tradition began in Wroclaw in the first half of the seventeenth century, and its theater became host to many composers and musicians on its stage, such as Antoni Rubinstein and Heinrich Ernst. It also holds traditional theater performances and various cultural events.
