The Old Treasury Building, located on Spring Street in Melbourne, was home to the Victorian Treasury and is now a museum of Melbourne history, known as the Old Treasury Building Museum. Built in 1858-1862, the Old Treasury is considered one of the finest Australian Renaissance buildings, with a design inspired by the 19th century Palazzo architecture. From the inside, you can see the gold vaults that were used to store gold bullion, in addition to valuable documents, highlighting the most important moments in Victoria's history.
