Located on the southeastern side of Mombasa Island, the Old Town covers an area of 72 hectares and is home to a mix of residents of Arab, Asian and European descent that have beautifully influenced its architecture and food. The old town of Mombasa is adorned with narrow streets, antique buildings, carved balconies, and engraved doors. It also includes many antique shops, spices, modern oils, and various cafes and restaurants. It is one of the best attractions in the city.
