Nelson Mandela Square is a public square and shopping center in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. The square was formerly known as Sandton Square and named after former South African President and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela in March 2004. A six-meter-high statue of Mandela was unveiled in Ceremony to rename the plaza, which is connected to the large Sandton City Shopping Centre, and together they form one of the largest trade complexes on the continent with more than 400 different stores offering a variety of merchandise in all areas.
