Information about National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine
The National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine is located on the green cliffs overlooking the Keelung River in Taipei City; Built in 1969, its grand and majestic architecture is similar to that of the Taihe Dian Imperial Palace in Beijing. The building is surrounded by more than 33,000 square meters of fields, protected by the surrounding mountains; This shrine commemorates the 330,000 men who gave their lives in the revolution before the establishment of the Republic of China and who fell during the Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. The paintings of these brave and loyal martyrs have been inserted into the four walls of the main building in testimony of their heroic deeds.
