Designed by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel, the new National Museum of Qatar will give a voice to the unique story of Qatar and its people from the beginning, to this day, and beyond into the future. Its cantilevered corners are inspired by the shape of the local desert rose. It is considered the second largest museum in Doha, overlooking the Doha Corniche. It consists of a group of palaces dating back to 1901. It was the private house of the ruler Abdullah bin Qassim Al Thani, and the museum includes several galleries. and a Maritime Museum, it also includes a huge number of artifacts that illustrate the splendor and beauty of Qatari heritage. The museum spans over an area of 1.5 km, and visitors can expect a wonderful blend of comprehensive environments and storytelling, which will appeal to all the senses of the visitor.
