Information about National Museum of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts, located in the heart of Havana, displays a variety of Cuban and international artworks dating back to a period of time stretching from colonial times to contemporary history. This museum was founded in 1913. When you enter the museum, you can't help but be dazzled by the ingeniously carved decor and the old pieces of art that are still intact thanks to the permanent maintenance by the museum staff. The museum consists of two buildings, the first dedicated to Cuban art and known as the Palace of Fine Arts, and the second is concerned with international arts, called the Palace of the Asturian Centre. This museum aims to preserve works of art that date the Cuban heritage by containing 24 exhibition rooms, and artworks from different historical periods, providing an enjoyable and educational experience at the same time for different age groups.
