Information about National Museum
The Yemeni National Museum was established in Sana’a in 1971 in Dar al-Shukr (Palace of Gratitude), which is one of the palaces of the Yemeni Imam. The museum then moved to a nearby building called Dar al-Sada (Palace of Happiness). The newly renovated palace was moved because it provides the necessary space to accommodate the increasing number of artifacts throughout the history of Yemen. The museum contains 30,000 artifacts from ancient Yemen collected from different archaeological sites.
