The National Maritime Museum is located on the front of the Motława River and is one of the special museums that attracts many tourists to the city every year. This museum was established in 1962 AD, and it was dedicated to collecting and preserving artifacts and documents related to ship transport, international trade, fishing and the culture of people working in the sea and rivers, in addition to spreading knowledge about the maritime history and economy of Poland through the ages. One of the museum's main exhibits is the Sołdek ship, and is a museum in its own right.
