Namhansanseong Fortress, also known as Namhansanseong Provincial Park, is a unique fortress city intended to serve as an emergency capital to protect sovereignty over the Han River and the independence of Joseon. It is believed that it was built either during the Silla or Baekje dynasty. The fortress is of great historical and cultural value. Which made it worthy of being included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and includes four huge gates that contributed to its protection.
