The oldest original country house in Wellington, it is a place of historical and cultural significance that dates back to AD 1858 and represents the late Georgian style. Almost everything inside the hut dates back to the period between 1850AD-1880AD. Built by hand from local New Zealand timber by William Wallis, this museum, which was originally a home owned by Mr. William, contains many collectibles that tell the story of the Wallis family who have lived in this cottage for three generations. Among these collectibles: pieces of furniture, pots, statues, games, some paintings, a piano, and others, and it is surrounded by a garden full of trees and flowers.
